ABOUT ULTIMATE GAP YEAR

Alex Cormack FRGS

Alex is the founder and Managing Director of Ultimate Gap Year.

After leaving Bradfield College he served for ten years as a British Army Officer, including Tank Commander during Gulf War I, training the new Mozambiquen Army and serving with an RAF Harrier Squadron during the Bosnia conflict.

Since his Army career, Alex has managed school expeditions to Guyana and Bolivia for World Challenge. He has also led school teams into the Himalayas, Mexico, Peru and Bolivia.

More recently, Alex was Marine Projects Manager for scuba diving conservation expeditions in Fiji, Borneo and the Bahamas.

It was through experiences such as surviving a fifty foot fall down a crevasse whilst skiing the ‘Haute Route’ in Switzerland, that Alex was inspired to set up Ultimate Gap Year.
